Dad’s Group in Natural Resources, Saturday, July 30th, San Francisco

Saturday, July 30th. time TBA. For new and expectant Dads

Becoming a father is one of the richest and most evocative transitions in a man’s life, signaling a profound shift in his identity. But along with the many rewards of being a dad comes its share of challenges. This monthly class/discussion group is designed to help expectant fathers prepare for the arrival of their infant and to help new fathers define their own unique take on fatherhood. Topics to be addressed include:
  • “The third wheel” phenomena: your position vis-a-vis new Mom and new baby
  • “The honeymoon’s over”: navigating your move from “two to three”, including the changes in the intimate relationship between fathers and their spouses during pregnancy and after
  • “Just wait ‘til your father gets home!”: masculine forms of nurture, guidance, and healthy limit-setting
  • “Father knows best”: the relationship with your own father in the formation of your identity as a Dad
